DHS and ICE rescind new visa rules for international students taking online classes

Faced with considerable resistance from colleges and universities across the nation, including Duke, the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have agreed to reverse a policy that international students studying under F-1 educational visas cannot return to or remain in the United States if they take only online classes.





‘Don’t deny your potential:’ Ken Jeong on basketball, comedy and his advice for seniors

Ken Jeong, Trinity ‘90, is an actor and comedian best known for roles in the TV show “Community” and “The Hangover” film series. He was announced in March as this year’s commencement speaker. The ceremony has since been postponed, but Jeong will be participating in the virtual Marking the Moment ceremony.











'It's not Shooters': Sights and sounds of a Saturday night at Duke Coffeehouse

I didn’t know where the Duke Coffeehouse was when I set out to spend a night there. Somewhere on East Campus, right? I hopped off the C1 on a frigid Saturday night in mid-November and walked toward the Crowell Building, where the DukeMobile app said the Coffeehouse would be, and around to a set of black metal stairs in the back.
