Grant Hill discusses new autobiography with Duke men's basketball head coach Jon Scheyer

Former Duke star Grant Hill returned to campus Wednesday evening for a special Brotherhood leg of his autobiography promotional tour. The NBA legend’s book, titled "Game," was published Tuesday and recounts Hill’s life as a collegiate leader in the sport, his time with USA Basketball and his distinguished professional career. The memoir also details his post-NBA career as a broadcaster, managing director with USA Basketball, a co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks and more.

With 11 victories down the stretch and a matchup with a team it had lost to in a one-point game just one month before, Duke was expected to care of business when it visited No. 7 Notre Dame for its season closer. That was not the case Saturday afternoon in Arlotta Stadium, where the Blue Devils fell to the Fighting Irish in a 16-14 battle.





Duke men's basketball's Jeremy Roach to return for junior season

After an impressive postseason showing in 2021-22, there was plenty of chatter on whether sophomore guard Jeremy Roach would be staying with the Blue Devils or declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-2 Leesburg, Va., native dismissed the latter theory Friday, announcing via Instagram that he will be returning to Duke for his junior season.

Tuesday night on campus, at first, looked quite ordinary. Students were in late meetings, picking out rooms for next year or grinding homework in libraries and common rooms when just after 9 p.m., phones started to buzz, and all work stopped. The lottery tickets had come out.

The most famous quote from former Iowa State wrestler, two-time NCAA national champion and one of the greats of collegiate wrestling, Dan Gable, came after his gold medal win at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. Gable shut down each of his opponents in his path to the top and once said about the experience, “Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.”
