Duke Student Government presidential candidate Teddy Hur, a junior, hopes to expand the resources offered to first-generation, low-income students, reinvigorate the on-campus social scene and make changes to how DSG operates.
Duke Student Government elections will run from Wednesday at noon to Thursday at noon, and the candidates are making their cases to the student body.

Duke traveled down to Louisville, Ky., Friday for a three-game ACC series against the Cardinals. It entered the weekend confident, only a week after ending its 21-game winning streak. But after a tough one-run performance Saturday, the third-ranked Blue Devils reignited offensively for a 5-3 win against the Cardinals Sunday afternoon, winning the series.
Two school records fell on the first night of the women’s NCAA swimming and diving Championships. Then, over the next four days, Duke repeated the feat — and topped it all off with the highest finish at the meet in program history.
It’s the semifinals of men’s epee, played on a single strip in the center of French Field House — figuratively and literally the biggest stage in collegiate fencing. Junior Allen Marakov launches an inspired comeback mid-bout to score three points in a row against Notre Dame’s Jonathan Hamilton-Meikle. Between each point, Marakov’s teammates yell “come on Allen!” from the stands.
The 23rd-ranked Blue Devils collected two momentum-building wins this weekend as they defeated No. 31 Wake Forest and No. 14 N.C. State. Despite dropping the doubles point in both matches, Duke rallied to defeat the Demon Deacons 4-1 and the Wolfpack 4-3. Sophomore Katie Codd broke the 3-3 tie to clinch the victory in the latter match, winning in a 7-6, 7-5 nail-biter.
The Blue Devils were dancing in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sunday, as they took down No. 12-seed James Madison 93-55. The Blue Zone recaps the win with the Player of the Game and more:

The Duke Asian Students Association is excited to see three accomplished candidates who contribute unique strengths for the DSG Presidency this year. After reviewing each candidate’s platforms, watching the Presidential Debate, and meeting all candidates who reached out to ASA, we have chosen to endorse Heather Raslan for DSG President. This decision comes after careful deliberation — while all candidates have shown clear passion for how they can best serve the undergraduate student body, ASA believes that Heather has the most promising and thoughtful platform for the next academic year.

RALEIGH—Those watching March Madness have seen all weekend how quickly a team can go on a run and completely change the momentum of a game. Basketball is not the only sport that follows this pattern, though, as Duke baseball witnessed the influence of momentum firsthand in its weekend series against N.C. State.
COLUMBUS, Ohio—At the end of the first quarter, it felt like the game between No. 7-seed Duke and second-seed Ohio State was already over. The Blue Devils had failed to make a field goal since the 8:05 mark in the period, and Duke was down 20-10. The Buckeye press was suffocating, and former Blue Devil Celeste Taylor was already causing problems on both ends of the floor.
At Duke, the current policy governing Short-Term Illness Notifications (STINFs) offers a scant three days per semester for student absences due to illness without the need for medical documentation. While this policy might seem compassionate at first glance, its limitations quickly become apparent, especially when facing the unpredictable nature of health challenges. I believe it's time for Duke to critically reassess and significantly expand the STINF policy. By doing so, we can move towards a more inclusive, supportive and health-conscious academic framework that better addresses the diverse needs of our student body.

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Coming into Sunday night’s matchup, the odds seemed to be stacked against Duke. The Barclays Center was roaring like an away-game crowd, and fans prepared for a potential upset. Yet 40 minutes later, the entire country learned one thing — don’t bet against the Blue Devils.
I used to hate dating apps as much as the next person — which is to say, viscerally. A couple of years ago, I was having breakfast with a friend, and he challenged my dislike. I couldn’t think of anything original to say. So, I figured I’d put my money where my mouth is and give them a go: I’d probably hate them, but at least I’d get some stories out of it. However, as you can probably guess from the title, I instead changed my mind. Because, to be honest, you can’t really know until you try. You could have reasons against using them — such as a religious principle or already being in a relationship — but an aversion without trial is not the same as an opinion crafted through an informed assay.
