A new era of Duke football is fully upon us as spring practice is underway in head coach Manny Diaz’s first season at the helm, but Thursday marked one final showcase for the class whose mindset from the start was to “be people who change the legacy of Duke football,” in the words of five-year player DeWayne Carter.

Do you ever wonder what happens to your food waste when it magically disappears on the dish return at WU? Well, we found out when the dish conveyor belt broke down just a few weeks ago. In its place were trash cans and recycling bins filled with a pastiche of unsorted waste. Compostable to-go boxes stuffed the trash can while the contents of the recycling bin ranged from half-eaten chicken to ice cream cones. Notably absent was a bin for composting. Evidently, Duke’s food waste wasn’t being handled as I had once thought.

Duke admitted 1,984 high school seniors to the Class of 2028 through its Regular Decision admissions cycle, according to Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Christoph Guttentag.

Triangle Healthcare Workers for Palestine organized a vigil Tuesday near Duke Medicine Pavilion to honor the deaths of healthcare workers in Gaza and call attention to the Duke University Health System’s lack of acknowledgment for a petition sent by THWP two weeks prior.

Three-and-a-half weeks ago, Duke faced Penn under heavy rain, falling to the Quakers 14-12. As the clouds opened Wednesday afternoon and brought rain to Koskinen Stadium, it looked as if the fifth-ranked Blue Devils might fall again, this time with No. 17 Boston University in town.
