Michael Savarino is finishing his Duke degree over the summer before transferring to New York University.

Mike and Michael have left the building.

Just weeks after junior Michael Savarino's grandfather, head coach Mike Krzyzewski, coached his last game with the Blue Devils, Savarino entered the transfer portal, On3's Matt Zenitz first reported Tuesday morning. Savarino announced the decision on social media Tuesday afternoon, and he confirmed that he will finish his degree from Duke over the summer and pursue a graduate degree after transferring.

Savarino was a walk-on for his first two seasons on the roster and became a scholarship player at the start of the current school year. His biggest bucket came in the final minutes during Duke's 82-67 loss against Virginia Tech in the ACC tournament championship game.
