Head coach Mike Krzyzewski will not be on the sidelines for Duke's Wednesday night game at Wake Forest, the program announced Wednesday afternoon. Krzyzewski's absence is due to a virus unrelated to COVID-19.
Associate head coach and head coach-in-waiting Jon Scheyer will serve as head coach against the Demon Deacons.
Scheyer has previously acted as head coach in Duke's Jan. 6, 2021 home win against Boston College after Krzyzewski had to quarantine following potential exposure to COVID-19.
