It is with great pleasure that the Muse, a Duke University feminist publication, wishes to endorse Carlos Diaz as the next Duke Student Government president. While we were incredibly impressed by Christina’s clear enthusiasm for and dedication to creating change, shown by her creation of the Headspace pilot program and her ideas on gender violence prevention, we ultimately have decided to endorse Carlos for his campaign’s emphasis on holding both the administration and DSG accountable. We appreciate Carlos’ commitment to transparency as someone unafraid to be blunt and open on behalf of student organizations. We were especially excited by Carlos’ Title IX platform, which focuses on improving campus safety through increased blue lights and the Noonlight partnership. As a feminist organization focused on female empowerment, it is clear to us that Carlos is committed to creating a campus where all members of the community can feel safe and heard.
