Duke has taken its first step in finding athletic director Kevin White’s successor.

The school announced its search committee for White’s replacement Wednesday night, a little under two months since White announced his retirement Jan. 15. The retirement doesn’t go into effect until August, but at the time of the announcement President Vincent Price said the national search would begin “soon.”

The committee will be chaired by former Board of Trustees Chair Richard Wagoner, with dean of Trinity College Valerie Ashby being named vice chair. Sixteen people make up the committee, including current NFL player Ross Cockrell, Duke volleyball head coach Jolene Nagel and Duke lacrosse co-captain JT Giles-Harris.

You can find the complete list of the committee in the Duke Athletics release.
