The Blue Devils' season-opener will come later than expected.

Blue Devil fans will have to wait a little bit longer for the return of Duke men's basketball.

Duke's season-opener against Gardner Webb, scheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m., has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Gardner-Webb program, per a team release.

The release added that the decision "was made Monday morning after consultation with Duke Athletics’ medical personnel," and that the two teams "may look to make up the game at a later date should schedules permit."

Duke's next scheduled game is now Saturday at home against Coppin State at 2 p.m.
