Head coach David Cutcliffe has had to deal with a number of serious injuries to starting Blue Devils throughout the season.

In a Monday afternoon press conference, head coach David Cutcliffe announced starting center Will Taylor will undergo surgery tomorrow.

Cutcliffe had high praise for the redshirt junior, who admirably stepped up after original starting center Jack Wohlabaugh went down with a season-ending injury in the preseason.

"[Taylor] is so bright. So smart. So positive. He knew that he needed to step up and he did just that," Cutcliffe said. "He's a great leader for us."

As of now, Cutcliffe said it is unlikely that Taylor will return to play this season but the team will know for sure once the surgery results are in.

Filling the void will be true freshman Graham Barton, who officially checks in at 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds and will be the latest Blue Devil called upon to step up into a bigger role due to an injury.

"I also couldn't be more proud of true freshman Graham Barton who stepped up in the N.C. State game," Cutcliffe said.

A press release to come from the team tomorrow.
