[UPDATED] Staying on campus? Here are the places remaining open this week

Update: This article was updated at 4:40 p.m. March 17 to include the announcement about the Duke Libraries closure.

While much of campus has closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show must go on. 

Included here are the specific open times listed on various Duke websites. All dining information comes from the Duke Dining website. 

Times listed are just for this upcoming week—schedules are subject to change in the weeks ahead as the COVID-19 news develops. The Chronicle will keep you updated as hours change.

Closures

According to Duke's coronavirus website, the Duke Chapel, Sarah P. Duke Gardens, Nasher Museum of Art, Duke Lemur Center, Rubenstein Arts Center, Athletics Hall of Fame and Karsh Alumni and Visitors Center are all closed for the foreseeable future.

Libraries

According to the Duke University Libraries website, Perkins, Bostock, Rubenstein and Lilly Libraries all have reduced hours, open only from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until March 18.

According to the an email sent to the Duke community, Duke Libraries will close March 18 at 5 p.m. to all patrons, including Duke and the broader community. The library staff is working to increase access to digitized materials and online chat services for research and coursework purposes.

The Rubenstein Library reading room is open from 1-4 p.m. March 14, but afterward, it will be closed to everyone, including students and researchers, until on-campus classes resume.

Student health and wellness

Student Health remains open, according to Duke’s Keep Learning website. The Student Health voicemail lists open hours as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday. Student Health is closed on the weekend.

Counseling and Psychological Services is also staying open. The CAPS website has open hours listed as Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning March 16th.

The normal operating hours remain for Campus Center Pharmacy, Nutrition Services and Dental Services.

Buses and Vans

Here is the bus and van schedule from the Parking and Transportation website. The schedule takes effect Monday, March 16 and will continue until further notice.

The C1: East-West will run from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. The C1/Swift, which will service the Swift Avenue route as well, will operate from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. 

The C1S, which runs through Smith Warehouse, will operate 7:30 a.m. to 6:10 p.m. on weekdays only. Duke Vans will run normally.

Brodhead Center

These times are for the week of March 15-21. 

Au Bon Pain is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Il Forno, Ginger and Soy, and Sazón are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Gyotaku is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Café is closed for the weekend, but will reopen Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

JB’s will reopen Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Tandoor will reopen Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Farmstead will reopen Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 pm.

The Commons will reopen Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sprout will reopen Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Bryan Center

These times are for the week of March 15-21. 

Beyu Blue is closed for the weekend but will reopen Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Panda Express is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Friday, though it will be closed on Sunday, March 15.

McDonald’s also has reduced hours, open Sunday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

The Loop will reopen Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Others

These times are for the week of March 15-21. 

The Law School Café is closed for the weekend, but will reopen Monday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Divinity Café will reopen Wednesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saladelia Cafe at Perkins will reopen Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Twinnie’s will reopen Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
