Super Bowl Sunday brought some welcome college football news for Blue Devil fans.

Graduate transfer quarterback Chase Brice announced his commitment to Duke in a tweet Sunday evening after completing his official visit this weekend. Despite his graduate status, the Clemson transfer has two years of eligibility remaining, and becomes the likely favorite to take over the Blue Devil quarterback job this fall.

Monday afternoon, head coach David Cutcliffe picked another key commitment on the offensive side of the ball, as former Stanford offensive tackle announced his transfer to the Blue Devils with an Instagram post.

A four-star recruit coming out of Grayson High School, Brice would not start while with the Tigers. However, the new Blue Devil saw significant action as a backup, passing for 1,023 yards and nine touchdowns over the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Brice will join a crowded quarterback competition in Durham, battling with redshirt junior Chris Katrenick and redshirt freshman Gunnar Holmberg for playing time behind center.
