Perkins Library patrons got an eyeful of more than books last week.

An unidentified individual is being charged with indecent exposure at Perkins, wrote John Dailey, chief of the Duke University Police Department, in an email. Dailey added that the suspect is currently out of state, so the name and more details regarding the crime have not yet been released.

The alleged incident occurred June 24 between 12:46 p.m. and 1:38 p.m, and it was reported to the police at 2:49 p.m., according to Duke’s police blotter. The blotter lists "Arrest (07/02/19)" for the case's current disposition, meaning the suspect was either arrested or an arrest warrant was obtained.

In another incident of creepy behavior, Zavier Vareen, 37, was arrested in September for allegedly peeping in the Bryan Center bathroom Aug. 24, when a man saw Vareen recording him from the next stall. Vareen was not a Duke student or employee.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
