A Duke Health employee has been charged with first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, among other offenses, ABC11 reported.

Joshua Worrell, marketing and planning officer in the DUHS Clinical Planning Office, allegedly recorded a teenage girl engaging in sexual acts in an online chat and saved the video to his phone, according to court filings viewed by ABC11. Worrell is 46 years old, and the girl is estimated to be between 14 and 16 years old.

Worrell has been a Duke employee since 2005, wrote Michael Schoenfeld, vice president for public affairs and government relations, in an email.

The alleged recording took place between September 2018 and May 2019.

Worrell did not respond to a request for comment.
