It’s been a long time coming, but Recess is finally dipping its feet (again) into the proverbial waters of podcasting. Our new pop culture podcast, Reel to Reel, launches today with Episode 1, “Tastemakers,” now available on Soundcloud and iTunes.
Co-hosted by Recess Editor Will Atkinson and Recess Managing Editor Nina Wilder, the podcast was born out of the daily musings and discussions Will (a lifelong fan of music) and Nina (a lifelong fan of cinema) were already having. This week’s episode, “Tastemakers,” takes the co-hosts to their starting points with this question: What was the piece of culture that made you fall in love with your medium? Future episodes will each revolve around a different theme that guides the discussion, with Will selecting songs and albums and Nina bringing up films.
