Mi Gente endorses Bryce Cracknell for Young Trustee

Mi Gente, Duke University’s Latinx student organization, is pleased to announce the endorsement of Bryce Cracknell for Young Trustee! Mi Gente’s Executive Board had the opportunity to meet with all four Young Trustee finalists this past week. After careful consideration of each candidate, we believe Bryce Cracknell possesses the strong commitment and understanding needed to be successful in representing Duke’s student body on the Board of Trustees.

As an activist who has continuously fought for the rights of undergraduate students, Bryce Cracknell has conveyed his passion for ensuring Duke University continues to be an accessible and inclusionary institution for students of all backgrounds. Additionally, through his various commitments as president of the Black Men’s Union, adviser to Valerie Ashby through the Trinity Student Diversity Advisory Committee, resident assistant, co-creator of “Demands of Black Voices,” co-founder of Students with Interracial Legacies, and member of the Trinity Board of Visitors, Cracknell has shown he is dedicated to understanding and serving the undergraduate population at Duke.

Bryce’s platform, which emphasizes diversity and inclusion, housing and residence life, investing in our environment, and curbing sexual assault, is emblematic of the issues that need to be addressed in our Duke community. Bryce has conveyed his understanding of what his role would be if elected as Young Trustee and we believe he is more than prepared to speak up and stand up for what is best for the Duke population at large. We fully support his candidacy and we encourage you to vote for Bryce Cracknell.

Signed,

Mi Gente Council 2017-2018
