ACC watch: Miami rebounds from bad loss to beat No. 24 Florida State

Every night of the college basketball season, the Blue Zone will bring you updates on all of the important ACC matchups.

Sunday only brought one ACC game, but it was a big one.

No. 15 Miami 80, Florida State 74

The Hurricanes were able to rebound from a bad loss to Georgia Tech to down the No. 24 Seminoles, which gave Duke a good fight in a 100-93 loss Dec. 30. Riddled by 18 turnovers, Miami's offense had struggled mightily against the Yellow Jackets, finishing with just 54 points and shooting just 4-of-19 from deep.

But the Hurricanes cut down the turnovers and got a combined 43 points from Bruce Brown Jr. and Dewan Huell to get its offense back on track. Miami has been a very strong defensive team, ranking No. 7 in basketball statistician Ken Pomeroy's efficiency rankings, but has struggled overall on offense, sitting at No. 95 in efficiency.

Looking ahead at some other games this week:

Tuesday, January 9:

Syracuse @ No. 8 Virginia, 8 p.m. EST

Boston College @ No. 12 North Carolina, 8 p.m. EST

Wednesday, January 10:

No. 2 Duke @ Pittsburgh, 7 p.m. EST

Notre Dame @ Georgia Tech, 7 p.m. EST

Virginia Tech @ Wake Forest, 7 p.m. EST

Louisville @ No. 24 Florida State, 9 p.m. EST
