After a series of long, arduous recruiting battles, the Blue Devils are still searching for their point guard in the Class of 2017.
Four-star point guard Matt Coleman committed to Texas Monday afternoon, a result many analysts expected because of the 6-foot-2 floor general's relationship with Longhorn head coach Shaka Smart.

Coleman is known for his speed off the dribble at just 160 pounds, and the Norfolk, Va., native also has the ability to stop on a dime and either set up teammates or knock down his smooth lefty jump shot.
Coleman would have become the fourth prospect in his class to commit to the Blue Devils, joining five-star big man Wendell Carter, five-star guard Gary Trent Jr. and four-star guard Alex O'Connell.
ESPN has Coleman, who plays at the prestigious Oak Hill Academy and received a Duke offer last September, rated as the 26th-best player in the Class of 2017.
Coleman visited the University in mid-September and was one of several point guards the Blue Devils were courting. Quade Green chose Kentucky, Tremont Waters picked Connecticut and Trae Young eliminated Duke from consideration.
Duke is still in contention for the top point guard in the Class of 2017, Trevon Duval, as well as five-star swingman Kevin Knox and five-star big man Mohamed Bamba.
Bamba recently announced his final four schools—Texas, Michigan, Kentucky and Duke. He is expected to visit the Blue Devils for their game Feb. 28 against Florida State at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Rounding out this week's recruiting news was the announcement of the final McDonald's All-American Game rosters Sunday night. Carter and Trent Jr. both received the prestigious honor and will compete March 29 in Chicago against some of the nation's top recruits.
Their inclusion on the final rosters give Duke 71 McDonald's All-Americans all time—tied for the most of any school.
