Duke has not allowed a goal in three games since senior defender Rebecca Quinn returned from the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The bell of the Blue Zone stock exchange has rung again, meaning it's time to take a look at who is rising and falling with their performances for Blue Devil sports teams. Each week, the Blue Zone will look at whose stock is on the rise and whose stock has taken a hit from the week in the world of Duke athletics.

Bull Market—Trending Up

Duke football quarterbacks: After presumed starting quarterback Thomas Sirk suffered a partially torn Achilles' tendon in fall camp that will sideline him for the season, redshirt junior Parker Boehme and redshirt freshman Daniel Jones stole the show in Saturday’s 49-6 rout of N.C. Central. Boehme had the play of the night late in the second quarter with a rumbling 34-yard run that set up his 4-yard touchdown pass to Davis Koppenhaver. But Jones outshone Boehme overall, throwing for two touchdowns and running for one more. The team’s next game will be at home against Wake Forest Saturday.

Duke women’s soccer defense: The women’s soccer team recorded its third straight shutout, as it defeated Minnesota 1-0 Sunday afternoon two days after playing North Carolina to a scoreless draw. The Blue Devils' defense was bolstered by defender Rebecca Quinn's return from the Olympics last Sunday, and Duke has not allowed a goal since. The team has looked technically clean in its matches so far and has only allowed more than one goal once all season. The shutout streak is made even more impressive due to the fact that the last two have come against ranked opponents—the Golden Gophers are ranked ninth in the nation and the Tar Heels are No. 8. Sunday's win moves the Blue Devils to 4-1-1 on the season as they prepare to take on No. 4 West Virginia at home on Friday.

Duke men's soccer: The Blue Devils traveled to Los Angeles and upset No. 9 UCLA with a game-winning goal in the 88th minute by junior Brian White. Duke is 2-0-1 on the season and will look to stay unbeaten with another major test coming up Saturday on the road against No. 11 Boston College.

Bear Market—Trending Down

Duke football ball security: The Blue Devils had no trouble dispatching the Eagles in their season opener Saturday, but they did lose five fumbles, a discouraging sign for future games. Five different Duke players were responsible for the fumbles, and all six of N.C. Central's points came off turnovers when the Eagles had short fields to work with. The Blue Devils cannot afford so many turnovers this Saturday in a game that will likely be much closer against Wake Forest.
