Coach K uses emojis in new ESPN spot

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski stars in a new SportsCenter commercial, with an assist from two grandsons.

After watching an ESPN clip of former Blue Devil star Justise Winslow dunking for the Miami Heat, Krzyzewski asks one of his grandsons to send Winslow a text complimenting his athleticism and defense thus far into his rookie year.

Those instructions then become converted into a series of emojis: two flames, a pair of 100s, three biceps and a basketball.

Seconds later, the response from Winslow returns as another set of emojis.

Translation: "He says thanks."

The new spot is the second in ESPN's new set of commercials to feature a Duke icon, transitioning away from its iconic "This is SportsCenter" campaign. Sacramento Kings guard Seth Curry joined the rest of his family—brother and NBA MVP Stephen Curry and their dad, former NBA standout Dell Curry—in a commercial earlier this year.

No word yet on Krzyzewski's emoji message to Winslow regarding Wikipedia.
