Duke football to play home-and-home with Illinois in 2025-26

Head coach David Cutcliffe has turned the Duke football program around and is building for long-term success.

The long-term now includes a home-and-home series with Illinois beginning in 2025.

Illinois announced the scheduling Friday in a press release. The Fighting Illini will come to Durham for a game Sept. 6, 2025, at Wallace Wade Stadium—which by then will be in its 10th year following this summer's renovations—before the Blue Devils return the favor with a trip to Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill., Sept. 12, 2026.

The two teams have met twice before, but not since 1965. Duke will play another Big Ten school, Northwestern, this season Sept. 19 at Wallace Wade Stadium.
