Timber: tree down on Chapel Drive

High winds are suspected to be the cause of a fallen tree that stopped traffic on Chapel Drive Thursday evening.

Approximately 20 cars and one bus were prevented from driving into the roundabout that connects Chapel Drive to Campus Drive after the tree fell shortly after 6:15 p.m. The bus had to be evacuated.

Durham firefighters worked to dismantle the tree using electric saws to allow cars to pass. At this time, there are no suspected injuries.
