Kevon Looney cuts list to 6

Kevon Looney, ranked the No. 9 player in the Class of 2014 by ESPN, has cut his list to six schools. Looney called Paul Biancardi, ESPN.com's director of basketball recruiting, Wednesday night to confirm that Duke, Florida, Michigan State, Tennessee, UCLA and Wisconsin remain in contention for his services.

Looney had an in-home visit with Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski and associate head coach Steve Wojciechowski in April.

A 6-foot-9 forward, Looney has impressed throughout the summer at showcases with his AAU team, the Milwaukee Rebels. Connecticut, Georgetown and Michigan were among the more notable teams that Looney cut from his list.

Looney's list will likely pair itself down to five when he decides where to take each of his official visits. Looney has said he will begin taking official visits in August, and hopes to make his college decision by the November signing period, before his senior season at Milwaukee Hamilton High School.
