Duke in final 8 for Myles Turner

Bedford, Texas center Myles Turner, the No. 10 player in the Class of 2014 according to ESPN, has cut his list to eight schools, ESPN's Reggie Rankin reported Wednesday night. Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Arizona, Ohio State, Texas and Oklahoma State remain in contention for Turner.

The 6-foot-11 forward has been one of the up and coming recruits in his class, impressing scouts throughout the summer with strong performances at the NBPA Top 100 camp in Charlottesville, Va. and leading his team to a championship at the Adidas Nations tournament in Long Beach, Calif., last weekend. After skyrocketing up recruiting boards in early June, Turner cut his list to 26 schools.

Turner has already scheduled an official visit to Kansas in October and will take an unofficial visit to Texas in September, per Rankin's report. He will play at the Under Armor Elite 24 game Aug. 24 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and is expected to trim his list further within a month—when between three and five schools will make the cut.
