Duke basketball adds walk-on Nick Pagliuca

Wednesday afternoon the official Twitter account for Duke men's basketball tweeted a link to the official 2013-14 men's basketball roster. In addition to confirming that Jabari Parker will be the first No. 1 since Kyrie Irving in 2011, the roster includes a 6-foot-3 guard from the Milton Academy in Weston, Mass.

Nick Pagliuca, younger brother of former Blue Devil walk-on Joe Pagliuca, finds his name on the roster, slotted between freshmen forwards Semi Ojeleye and Parker.

Nick Pagliuca, who's father Stephen is a part-owner of the Boston Celtics, has worked hard to earn a spot on the Duke roster. Part of that hard work was helped by Kevin Garnett, whom Pagliuca met while visiting the Celtics' locker room at the team's practice facility. Pagliuca told the Boston Globe that his improved jump shot can be attributed to Garnett instructing him to focus on the rungs of that hold the net to the rim.

Joe Pagliuca played in 13 games his four seasons with the Blue Devils. Nick Pagliuca has yet to choose a number, but Joe Pagliuca's old No. 45 is available.
