Reports say that longtime Duke associate head coach Chris Collins will accept the head coaching job at Northwestern and an announcement can be expected as soon as today.
Jeff Goodman of CBS was the first to report it.
Chris Collins to Northwestern is a done deal, sources told CBSSports. Announcement expected later today.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanCBS) March 27, 2013
As discussed yesterday, Collins is expected to remain with Duke through the end of the season before taking his talents to Evanston, Illinois. He was expected back in Durham today to help the Blue Devils prepare for their Friday night Sweet 16 game against Michigan State.
Collins is the second former Blue Devil to become a head coach this week, after Bobby Hurley agreed to become the head coach at Buffalo Tuesday.
