Plumlee named ACC Player of the Week

After a mid-season swoon Mason Plumlee is right back on top of the college basketball world. This week, the National Player of the Year candidate and ACC Player of the Year favorite was honored with his second ACC Player of the Week honor.

Plumlee started his week with sweet revenge against N.C. State in front of his home crowd, helping Duke stomp the Wolfpack 98-85 with a 30 point performance. He was just as crucial against Boston College on Sunday, pouring in 19 points and adding 10 rebounds.

Most notable about Plumlee's big week is his proficiency from the free throw line. Over the two games Plumlee took 26 trips to the charity stripe and connected on 19 shots—including the tying and winning free throws against the Eagles.

Plumlee is averaging a double-double this season with 18.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. He is just one of 15 players who are achieving this feat.

This is the fifth week that a Blue Devil has won ACC Player of the Week, the most in a single season since the 2009-2010 campaign.
