After sustaining a foot injury this summer that kept him out for most of the summer's AAU season, Jabari Parker took the court for the first time since his setback on Saturday night for Simeon Career Academy, according to an article in The Chicago Tribune.
Out of shape and a bit rusty, Parker—the No. 2 overall player in the class of 2013 according to ESPN—only played 11 minutes and registered six points and four rebounds in a Simeon win with Spartan head coach Tom Izzo reportedly in attendance.
Michigan State and Duke continue to get the most press as the favorites to land the 6-foot-8 small forward. Stanford, BYU and Florida remain on Parker's list though, and it's beginning to look as if a college decision will not come until after the first of the year, at the earliest.
Stanford is the only school of the five that has not received an official visit from Parker.
Karl Town's college decision is much more imminent, though. The consensus top-ranked player in the class of 2015 will end his recruitment abnormally early for a sophomore as he announces his decision on Tuesday.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari—who coached Towns this summer on the Dominican Republic national team—is the heavy favorite to secure an early commitment from the 6-foot-10 forward, who may eventually reclassify to the class of 2014.
Following Duke's signees: Last Friday, Semi Ojeleye's high school team, Ottawa high school (Kan.), started its season off on the right foot with a 54-39 win over St. James (Kan.), according to Max Preps.
