Chick-Fil-A Bowl to scout at Duke vs. Clemson

Generic Script

A Chick-Fil-A Bowl representative will be in Durham Saturday night for the matchup between Duke and Clemson at Wallace Wade Stadium.

The Tigers (7-1, 4-1 in the ACC) are in second place behind Florida State in the Atlantic Division, and the Blue Devils (6-3, 3-2) are in a three-way tie for the top spot in the Coastal Division.

The Chick-Fil-A Bowl, which will be held Dec. 31, gets the second pick of ACC teams and fifth pick of SEC programs. Duke will likely need to win its final two games, and hope Virginia Tech drops its Thursday matchup with Miami, to earn a trip to the ACC championship. Without a conference title appearance, a Chick-Fil-A bowl invitation would be unlikely.

Clemson is unlikely to reach the ACC championship because of Florida State, but could still receive an invite because of the relative strength of the Atlantic Division and its travel-friendly fan base.
