Sulaimon scores eight, USA U18 team takes gold

It wasn't the Olympics, but the United States brought home gold as the USA U18 team proved emphatically that they were the best team in the field, cruising through all five games they played. The U.S. defeated Brazil 81-56 in the championship.

In that gold medal game, incoming Duke freshman Rasheed Sulaimon scored eight points on 3-5 shooting, adding two rebounds and a steal. Sulaimon logged 17 minutes.

For the tournament, Sulaimon averaged an even 10 points per game, fourth best for the Americans. Sulaimon shot an impressive 54% from the field, but 31.6% from beyond the arc. The 6'3" guard also averaged 3.4 rebounds per game and just 1.4 turnovers. Sulaimon's 20 minutes per game was third on the team, trailing just Nathaniel Britt (committed to North Carolina for 2013) who averaged 21.4 minutes, and Jarnell Stokes (committed to Tennessee) who logged 20.4 minutes per game.
