The number one pick in the 2011 draft, the Cleveland Cavalier's Kyrie Irving took a whopping 117 of 120 first place votes on his way to earning Rookie of the Year honors.
Irving's 18.5 points per game easily lead all rookies, with Detroit Piston's guard Brandon Knight scoring just 12.8 in second place. Irving's 5.4 assists was second only to Minnesota's Ricky Rubio, who missed a large portion of the season with injury.
Kyrie Irving is the first Duke alumni to be the sole Rookie of the Year. In 2000 Elton Brand shared the award with former Maryland guard Steve Francis and in 1995 Grant Hill and former Cal guard Jason Kidd shared the honor.
Rubio finished second in the voting, while Kenneth Faried (Denver), Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio), and Iman Shumpert (New York) finished third, fourth, and fifth respectively, each earning a first place vote.
