Nollner finishes 10th at Junior World Championships

Blue Devil epeeist Dylan Nollner made the most of his first appearance at the Junior World Championships in Moscow, finishing in 10th place.

The sophomore went undefeated in pool play to earn a No. 7 seed in the bracket of 64. He defeated Finland’s Rasmus Mellanen, 15-11, and South Korea’s Byeungchan Jung, 15-9, en route to the table of 16, where he faced Italy’s Marco Fichera.

Fichera jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back, though, winning the bout 15-4.

Nollner earned a silver medal at the Junior Olympics in February and finished 17th at the NCAA championships Mar. 25.
