Capra Lifts U.S. in France

While most freshmen spent the last week busily studying for their first round of finals, Beatrice Capra was in Europe helping lead the United States to victory at the Master'U BNP Paribas tournament in Rouen, France. The win marked the United States' second of the past three years in the tournament for collegiate tennis players.

The Americans kicked off the tournament on Friday facing off against Germany. Capra played both a singles match and a double match, winning both. On Saturday, she came out victorious in another doubles match in the United States' 7-0 rout over Belgium.

The championship on Sunday was against France, who won the title last year after the Americans had defeated them in 2009. Playing with the same partner as on Friday and Saturday, Florida Gator Lauren Embree, Capra won her doubles match. She dropped her singles match, however, but the Americans won every doubles match to secure the victory.
