Four Blue Devils to compete at U.S. Women's Open

Four Blue Devils, including three LPGA professionals, will participate in the 2011 U.S. Open which begins July 7 at the Broadmoor East Course in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Rising junior Lindy Duncan, the only current Blue Devil slated to compete in the event, qualified in May after securing one of seven automatic spots via the Deerwood Country Club. She will be participating in her second open after missing the cut in 2009.

Three other former Blue Devils, Amanda Blumenherst, Anna Grzebien and Brittany Lang will also be in the field. All three are in the top-100 of the LPGA money list, led by Lang's 33rd place tally.

While Blumenherst will be playing in only her second U.S. Open as a professional, both Lang and Grzebien have had success in their prior attempts to claim one of the LPGA's major championships. Grzebien finished 17th in the tournament in 2009, while Lang tied for second place in 2005 prior to turning professional.
