Editor's note on The Chronicle's power outage

While performers insist that the show must go on, journalists might say that the news never stops.

That’s why several members of The Chronicle staff carried out an emergency relocation after the newspaper’s office lost power from 10:05 p.m. Thursday night until around 3 a.m. Friday morning.

Computer monitors, keyboards, and even a data server were hauled across Main Quad around midnight as part of a heroic effort to produce the paper you are reading right now. Special thanks should be extended to Michael Blake, Sabreena Merchant, Emmeline Zhao, Alex Klein, Michael Naclerio, Lisa Du, Charlie Lee, Hon Lung Chu, Jonathan Angier and Brian Morris.
