Cutcliffe Candidly Speaks On Recruiting O-Linemen

The always quotable David Cutcliffe explained the difference between acquiring offensive lineman in college football and the pro game during his weekly press conference Tuesday. He said that he was still confused as to how NFL teams manage to mess up so many times in drafting linemen, and he thought that part of it had to do with their overused focus on the physicality of the players.

Then, he gave us this gem:

"We have all these rules. We can't hardly look at them twice in college football. [In the NFL] they can pinch them, kick them, do whatever they want to them. They make them strip for them at the NFL Combine. Can you imagine how fast I'd lose my job if I did that? Dr. White would fire me if I made one strip at Hillside High School!"

Yes. Yes, I think he would.
