Blue Devils in the U.S. Women's Open: Day 1

Day One of the 63rd U.S. Women's Open has concluded on the Old Course at Saucon Valley, with widely different results for the four Blue Devils playing.

Amanda Blumenherst, one of the most decorated athletes in Duke history, struggled to keep the ball in the fairway all day, ultimately missing nine out of fourteen. She was 3-over after her first nine holes and finished the round with a 75.

Also finishing with a 75? Blumenherst's former teammate Jennie Lee, who shot a 42 on the front nine before turning it around on the back with a very respectable 2-under 33.

Both found trouble on the same hole, the 559-yard 6th. The four-time All-Americans limped off the dastardly par-5 with double bogeys.

Anna Grzebien leads all Duke players in the tournament at 2-over. Finding something that her former teammates couldn't find all day-- consistency-- Grzebien hit 12 fairways and 13 greens en route to a 73.

The only current Blue Devil in the tournament, Lindy Duncan, got a rude introduction to U.S. Open play. The incoming freshman shot a 78, only hitting seven greens in the process.

Na Yeon Choi leads at  3-under.
