Wall Chooses Kentucky Over Duke, Miami

The John Wall sweepstakes might finally be over, and it looks like Kentucky is the big winner.

Multiple sources reported on Tuesday that Wall, one of the nation's top recruits and the best unsigned player in the Class of 2009, has decided to play at Kentucky for new head coach John Calipari. Calipari was formerly the head coach at Memphis, and Wall strongly considered attending Memphis at the time. When Calipari swapped schools, Wall got more serious about Kentucky, and he appears to have chosen to play in Lexington.

Wall's other top choices were Duke and ACC rival Miami.

ESPN'S Andy Katz said Wall spoke with Miami head coach Frank Haith informing him of his decision, but the Blue Devils or head coach Mike Krzyzewski were not mentioned.

Earlier in the week, sources close to Wall said he might not make a decision before a soft deadline of May 20, while others refuted that report and said his decision could be imminent. With Wall, Kentucky could be one of the best teams in the nation next year despite missing out on the NCAA Tournament in 2008-09.
