Krzyzewski Seeks Recruiting Tips From...

... Bob Ryan?

At the end of Thursday's press conference following Villanova's Sweet 16 77-54 victory over Duke, with a surprisingly low number of questions asked to Coach K, Krzyzewski took the lull as an opportunity to direct a question of his own at Bob Ryan.

Ryan, a columnist for The Boston Globe and a frequent guest on ESPN's "Around the Horn", was sitting antsily and Krzyzewski clearly thought the writer had something on his mind, so he asked him, "Bob, you got a question for me?"

So Ryan, after a few seconds of claiming he had nothing to say, asked the question nearly every Duke fan has had on their mind: When are you going to get a post player who can score?

Krzyzewski admitted that he needed not only a dominant inside offensive presence--someone like the Wildcats' Dante Cunningham--but also a point guard who didn't come in as a shooting guard and one that could create better looks since his team failed to get easy baskets against the Wildcats. The coach lamented his failure to snag recruits who have spurned the Blue Devils at the last moment--Greg Monroe, anyone?--and asked Ryan, "You have someone in mind?"

Negative.

"You're not that helpful, then," Krzyzewski joked.
