For Once, Toliver Helps The Blue Devils

After dropping to second place in the ACC with a disappointing overtime loss to Florida State Thursday, No. 4 Duke moved back into a tie for the league lead Monday by taking care of business at home against Boston College and receiving help from an unlikely source.

Maryland defeated the Seminoles in Tallahassee on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by—you guessed it—Duke killer Kristi Toliver to hand Florida State its first conference loss and put Duke back on top of the ACC.  Said Terrapin head coach Brenda Frese: The finish was "better than the Super Bowl".

And with Toliver rediscovering her stroke from long range, the Blue Devils would do well not to rest on their laurels. Maryland's victory puts the Terrapins only a game back of Duke with one clash still to play between the two rivals.
