Smith Expected To Play In ACC Opener

Fear not, Blue Devil fans. Nolan Smith will be in the lineup when Duke opens ACC play Sunday against Virginia Tech.

Smith, who bruised his left knee in Duke's win over Loyola Wednesday, left the contest in the first half and never returned, sitting on the bench in a warmup shirt and applying ice to his knee over the game's last 28 minutes. After the game, head coach Mike Krzyzewski said he was waiting for the prognosis, but Smith told reporters he felt fine. Smith, the team's fourth-leading scorer, was also listed as the team's probable starter in the Blue Devils' game notes.
