Cheek's Father To Officiate Pro Bowl

With the NFL Pro Bowl moving from Hawaii to the site of the Super Bowl next year, this February isn't a bad time to make your Pro Bowl officiating debut--which is exactly what Boris Cheek, the father of Duke forward Joy Cheek, will do.

Boris will serve as the field judge for the annual gathering of NFL talent. Don't think Joy will be able to make the trek across the country, though: The Blue Devils travel to Chapel Hill to play North Carolina the next night.

Speaking of the Cheeks, it's too tempting to bring up the lede to an old story about the father-daughter duo from Joy's freshman year:

Growing up, freshman Joy Cheek knew the importance of rules. No elbows on the table, no cookies before dinner.

And certainly no roughing the passer.

That was a 15-yard penalty.
