Glitches Keep Polls Open Late in Two Triangle Precincts

filed at 4:45 p.m.

Just under three hours remain until polls close across North Carolina.

But two polling locations in the Triangle, the Barwell Road Community Center in Raleigh and Pearsontown Elementary School in Durham, will stay open a little later to compensate for delays earlier in the day, the (Raleigh) News and Observer reported.

An election official at the Raleigh location left ballots in her grandson's car this morning, pushing the start of voting back approximately one hour. As a result, the polling place will stay open until 8:30 p.m. In Durham, a morning power-outage led precinct leaders to extend their open-hours by 20 minutes, until 7:50 p.m.
