Fortunately for top-ranked Duke, there is no New York Times jinx. The same day the Blue Devils were featured as the lead sports story in the Gray Lady, they advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament with a 12-7 win over Loyola in Koskinen Stadium. In the win, senior Matt Danowski broke the NCAA's all-time scoring record with two goals and five assists.
