Bell Tower besieged by billiard bandits

Billiard equipment in Bell Tower residence hall was reported missing and damaged Wednesday, Aug. 31. A ball was recovered in the microwave, and pool cues were recovered in light fixtures. Estimated value of loss is $200.

Seventy-five Red Bull drinks seized

A refrigerator containing 75 Red Bull energy drinks was stolen from the Starbucks in Keohane Quadrangle. An employee told police the property was last seen Sunday Aug. 28 and discovered missing at 7 a.m. Monday Aug. 29. The Red Bull refrigerator and stand are worth $450; the energy drinks, $188.

Student cited for alcohol violations

A 19-year-old student was cited about 1 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 by Duke Police on a possession of malt beverage charge. Six cans of Miller Lite and several empty liquor bottles were found in the student’s room in Bell Tower residence hall.

Wallet lifted in Bivins Building

Petty cash and an employee’s wallet were reported stolen Tuesday from the Bivins Building. An employee told police she last saw the theater department’s petty cash Aug. 22. The employee also discovered her wallet missing.

Burglar takes Bassett bike

A student’s bike was stolen this week from outside Bassett residence hall. The student told police her blue Magna 21-speed bike was locked to a rack Sunday, Aug. 28, but missing Tuesday, Aug. 30. The bike is worth $80.

Purse pilfered from Hanes House

An employee reported Monday, Aug. 29 that her purse was stolen from her office in Hanes House. The employee told police she left her office at 11:50 a.m. Monday and when she returned 10 minutes later, the black purse was gone. The purse was later recovered in a stairwell with $13 missing.
