I am writing to lend my support to Matthew Slovik for Duke Student Government president. First, I would like to express my appreciation for the support that I received during the election. This campaign has been a grueling course that thoroughly tested all the candidates. And I am forever grateful for the tremendous help from my friends and supporters for making this an unforgettable experience. However, my duty as an advocate for Duke students is not finished, and I will continue to seek opportunities to better serve the Duke community.
During the campaign, I had the opportunity to share ideas with other candidates and learn about each of them as individuals. I believe that Matthew Slovik is the only candidate remaining in the election who has distinguished himself with honest and effective leadership experience. More importantly, he and his accomplishments have demonstrated genuine concern and relevance for the Duke community. He has shown dedication to improving life for Duke's most important asset: our students. I believe Matt will thoroughly represent the views and protect the well being of Duke's entire spectrum of diverse groups and individuals and will make a positive and recognizable impact on life at Duke.
I firmly believe in Matt's ability, and I know that Duke students will make the correct decision in selecting him as DSG president. On Tuesday, March 18, I strongly encourage everyone to cast their vote for Matt Slovik for DSG president.
