Pizza delivery man robbed at gunpoint

A pizza delivery man reported to the Duke University Police Department that he was the victim of an armed robbery Nov. 27 at 8:48 p.m.

He had just delivered a pizza to a Central Campus apartment in the 1900 block of Yearby Street when two men approached him with a small handgun and demanded that he give them his money. The delivery man did so, after which time the two men jumped into a waiting car and drove off.

One of the assailants is described as a black man in his early 20s who stands about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 130 lbs. He is also described as having wide cheekbones and short hair worn in dreadlocks.

The second assailant is a black man in his late teens or early 20s who stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 lbs.

There may have been a third accomplice who was driving the escape vehicle-which is described as a white hatchback Geo Metro or similar model with chrome wheels-but the victim could not describe him.

Vehicle stolen: A vehicle was reported stolen at the Washington Duke Inn during this past weekend. A person visiting the University left his car and keys at the Inn with the valet parking attendant at about 8:30 p.m.

Sometime before 9:21 p.m., the victim returned to find the car stolen. The perpetrator entered the Inn and obtained the keys to the car. He drove the car away, but then wrecked the vehicle, jumped out and ran away, said Capt. Charles Nordan of DUPD.

The perpetrator is described as a white man of an unknown age who stands about 6 feet tall and is of medium build. He is described as having a light complexion and blonde hair.

Indecent exposure reported: A resident of East Campus' Blackwell Dormitory reported to DUPD that a white man in his late teens or early 20s "streaked" or indecently exposed himself there at about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 27.

The perpetrator, who was wearing a brown wig at the time of the incident, stood about 6 feet tall and weighed approximately 180 lbs.
