Women's track moves outdoors

The women's track and field team began its outdoor season at the Clemson Relays last weekend.

The Blue Devils were led by first place finishes in the 4x800-meter relay and 4x1500-meter relay and a school record time in the sprint medley relay.

The 4x800-meter team consisted of freshmen Collette Gurtler and Claire Butler and seniors Karin Stephens and Beth Gadkowski. Their time of 9:28.06 was good for a spot on Duke's all time top-five performance list.

The 4x1500-meter team of Butler, Stephens, freshman Kristin Faraguna and junior Liz Hanly finished in 19:39.56.

In the SMR, freshman Kim Hay, sophomore Kirsten Johnson and juniors Nicola Crabtree and Betsy Keever ran the record time of 4:19.23 to finish in fourth place in the event.
