The icy weather which hit the Triangle area late last week caused several weekend sporting events involving Duke athletic teams to be cancelled.
The baseball team had games against VMI and East Tennessee St. called off because of the weather. The Blue Devils are still 1-0 on the young season.
The women's tennis team was scheduled to travel out to Utah this weekend to take on Brigham Young and Utah, but Duke's Thursday night flight to Utah was cancelled due to the wet, icy weather.
The men's track team's meet at Virginia Tech on Saturday was postponed. The women's team was supposed to compete at the Pepsi Relays in Chapel Hill, but the meet was cancelled because of the weather.
The fencing team was also supposed to compete Saturday in a meet at Chapel Hill, but that was also cancelled.
