Duke women's soccer's Rebecca Quinn removed from FIFA 16 due to NCAA eligibility concerns

Every time you boot up Madden or FIFA on your video game console, a familiar slogan blurts out: "EA Sports: It's in the game." Rebecca Quinn was going to bring literal meaning to that motto—until the NCAA put its foot down. Quinn, a junior defender who played for Team Canada at this summer's Pan American Games, was slated to appear in FIFA 16, the latest installment of the popular soccer video game that was officially released Tuesday.


Freshman Kayla McCoy had a chance to win the game in overtime, but Florida State goalkeeper Cassie Miller turned the shot aside to preserve the scoreless tie.

Duke women's soccer draws with shorthanded No. 2 Seminoles

The No. 22 Blue Devils drew with No. 2 Florida State 0-0 Sunday at Koskinen Stadium, holding the Seminoles scoreless for the first time this season. Duke bested the Seminoles 25-8 in total shots and 6-1 in shots on goal, but the many empty opportunities overshadowed the defense’s eighth shutout of the year.
